Hypercaloric, DHA- and ARA-enriched formula

For infants who are born prematurely and have additional nutrient needs that were not met in-utero. Can be used as part of the Similac Liqui-Mix^TM System, to prepare customized feedings of various caloric densities. Recommended until infant reaches 3600 g (approximately 8 lb). For oral or tube feeding use. Use under medical supervision.

Calcium and phosphorus at concentrations and ratio (1.8:1) that support intrauterine accretion rates.¹
Exclusive blend of DHA, lutein, and natural vitamin E:^*
- Results of a clinical study point to protective effects of lutein on preterm retinal health and maturation.²
Approximately 2 mg iron/kg body weight per day when fed at 120 Cal/kg body weight per day.
39% of fat as medium chain triglycerides.
Supports normal growth and bone mineralization in preterm infants born at less than 33 weeks gestation.³
Improves early language^† and visual development^‡ in preterm infants.^4,§

PRECAUTIONS

Never use a microwave oven to warm formula; serious burns can result. Test temperature before feeding to avoid scalding the infant's mouth.
Not intended for feeding preterm infants after they reach a weight of 3600 g, or as directed by a physician.
If signs of intolerance develop, slow feeding or discontinue.
Not for parenteral use.

Preparation

Directions for Use:

Do not use if breakaway ring is missing or broken.
Use under medical supervision.
Always wash hands thoroughly with soap and water when preparing infant feedings.
- Twist off cap.
- Use clean hands to twist on nipple and ring.
Once feeding begins, use within 1 hour or discard.
Avoid prolonged exposure of bottles to light.
Store unopened at room temperature. Avoid extreme temperatures.
