Hypoallergenic, extensively hydrolyzed formula

For term infants 0+ months of age. For infants with: Food allergies;¹ Colic symptoms due to protein sensitivity (cow's milk and/or soy protein);^2,3 Sensitivity to intact protein (cow's milk and/or soy protein);¹ Malabsorption syndromes.¹ For use as a breast milk substitute in term infants whose health care professional recommends the use of an extensively hydrolyzed formula. For oral or tube feeding use.

PRECAUTIONS

Never use a microwave oven to warm formula; serious burns can result. Test temperature before feeding to avoid scalding the infant's mouth.
Not for parenteral use.
Not for infants with galactosemia.

Preparation

Directions for Use:

Your baby’s health depends on carefully following these directions. Proper hygiene, preparation and storage are important when using infant formula. Failure to follow these directions could result in severe harm. Use as directed by your health care professional.

Similac^® Alimentum^® is a ready to feed, sterilized formula. If mixed with additional water, it may not provide proper nutrition and repeated use of improperly prepared formula could cause illness.

Before preparing bottle for feeding, wash hands thoroughly with soap and water. Wash bottles, nipples, rings, caps and all equipment then place in boiling water for 2 minutes. Sterilization is required. Your health care professional will decide when it is no longer necessary.
Clean top of can. Shake well before opening.
Pour desired amount into bottle. Cap bottle; shake well; attach nipple.

Once feeding begins, use within 1 hour or discard.
Cover prepared bottles and opened cans and refrigerate immediately; use within 48 hours.
Store unopened cans at room temperature; avoid extreme temperatures.
